| Setting a New Standard in
Allergy Testing
3gAllergy™: The first FDA-cleared
third-generation allergy test. It
provides quantitative determination
of allergen-specific IgE at very low
levels with excellent precision,
accuracy and lot-to-lot
reproducibility. The assay delivers
reliable results in about an hour to
help you identify, monitor and
manage patients with allergic
diseases. The analyzer will detect.
allergen-specific IgE at lower
concentrations than any other
allergy immunoassay! |

Advanced
Immunoassay SystemThe IMMULITE
2000, a continuous random access
analyzer with a processing
throughput of 200 tests per hour,
has been designed specifically for
optimum efficiency and consolidation
in medium- and high-volume
laboratories. The IMMULITE 2000
software package, with its
self-explanatory graphical user
interface, offers streamlined
information management, from remote
test ordering to sophisticated
analysis of results.
Workflow-enhancing features such as
primary tube sampling, automatic
reflex testing and onboard dilution
have been incorporated for speed and
efficiency.
The system's open architecture also
accommodates interfacing to
laboratory automation systems.
Furthermore, Siemens will offer
complete workcell modules to provide
a flexible and configurable approach
to workstation and platform
configuration. |
Remote DiagnosticsIn today's environment, support is
key to maintaining laboratory
services. Siemens has created Remote
Diagnostics that allows our
Technical Services remote access to
help you, no matter where your
location, providing you peace of
mind, service and support.After-Sales Training and SupportThe IMMULITE 2000 has an integral
tutorial package that enables
operators to navigate the instrument
and understand the principles behind
the technology. There is also a
separate training CD available to
all laboratories, allowing for
remote learning at the convenience
of the operator.
Siemens is proud to supply all our
customers with an after-sales
service that they can rely on and
have confidence in, whatever the
issue. We are committed through our
Quality Standards to support our
customers in every way possible and
continually strive to improve the
service and support we offer. Maximum Integration

Software Manages Your
Testing Workload with Optimum
Efficiency
IMMULITE 2000's software features
the streamlined simplicity of a
Graphical User Interface (GUI) in a
Microsoft® Windows® XP operating
environment. Touch-screen commands
put system navigation at your
fingertips. Our software also
features context-sensitive online
help and a multimedia tutorial.
IMMULITE 2000's operating system has
enough storage capacity for several
years' worth of patient results as
well as an automated data backup
function.
| The Home Screen provides easy
access to most system functions
including
a Help Icon, which provides
intuitive online instruction for
system maintenance,
operation and software use. |
 |
| The Sample Status Screen tracks
the position of any sample on the
carousel in real time. Positions are
color coded and numbered for easy
identification. Further information
including patient ID, tests
requested with results, or time to
result availability can also be
accessed easily from this screen. |
 |
| The Reagent / Bead Status Screens
allow monitoring of onboard reagent
or bead status including lot number,
adjustment status, number of tests sts
remaining, and expiration dates. |
 |
| The IMMULITE 2000 Training CD can
be run under Windows 95 or Windows
NT on any computer, and has been
developed to aid in the training of
both primary and secondary
operators. It is interactive, using
text, video, graphics and animation,
and is intended as an introduction

Allergy Testing Paradigm
A Simple Blood Test...
Hundreds of different allergens can be
tested with just one blood sample, making
3gAllergy particularly beneficial for
children. There is no need to endure the
prolonged discomfort of multiple skin prick
tests. With 3gAllergy testing is quick and
simple!
The testing paradigm below has been adapted
from published guidelines by the European
Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
These guidelines assist the physician in
diagnosing allergy in infants and children.
A clinical history of skin, gastrointestinal
or respiratory symptoms that are suggestive
of allergy often prompts a pediatrician or
family doctor to prescribe specific IgE
testing. Food allergies are more frequently
seen in young children, while inhalant
allergies usually appear later in childhood.
Consequently, it is recommended that
children under the age of two be tested for
specific IgE to common food allergens
initially, and then tested for inhalant
allergies when they get older.
Allergies are often inherited. An
individual with inherited allergies is
considered atopic.
Children with one or more allergic parents
should be assessed for atopic risk by
testing
for specific IgE to common food and inhalant
allergens.
